Before Entering the Ropes Course

Gear-up

Prior to entering the course, all participants watch a briefing video, are fitted with a harness and helmet, put on gloves, then go through ground school.

Ground School

Ground school is a brief, yet thorough, training experience in which High Trek staff teach participants the general layout of the course, how to use the smart claw and zip trolley system, and how to use the TruBlue Controlled Descent Devices to lower off of the course.

When It's Time to Climb

Once ground school is complete, all participants may clip in at their entry point and enter the course. From there, participants have 90 minutes to climb and zip.

Instead of telling you how it feels, watch this video to experience it for yourself:

Keep in Mind

Warm Summer Temperatures

We have installed shade sails on the course for your comfort. Believe it or not, when you are climbing off the ground on the Ropes Course in the shade, the temperatures will be 15-20 degrees cooler than on the ground. You also tend to catch a refreshing breeze on the course and ziplines. So, if you would like to take a break from the water you will have a great time regardless of the current temperature.  Climbing in the evening hours can also provide cooler temperatures and great views as the sunsets over the mountains.

How to Prepare

What to Wear

Wear clothes that are comfortable and appropriate for the weather. You will be fitted with a full-body harness, so we encourage clothing that covers your shoulders and stomach.

Keep the following dress requirements in mind:

  • Shoes must cover climbers' toes and secure around the heel.
  • Leggings, shorts, or pants should be under dresses, skirts, and kilts.
  • Jackets and other layers may be worn under our gear.

  • Please leave any personal climbing equipment at home. Participants are required to use the equipment provided by High Trek.

  • All participants must weigh under 265lbs.
  • Participants must be able to reach up to 70 inches to climb the full course. Participants unable to reach this height should be accompanied by someone who can reach or purchase a first floor ticket.
